²² Let their table become a snare before them,
And their well-being a trap.
²³ Let their eyes be darkened, so that they do not see;
And make their loins shake continually.
²⁴ Pour out Your indignation upon them,
And let Your wrathful anger take hold of them.
²⁵ Let their dwelling place be desolate;
Let no one live in their tents.
²⁶ For they persecute the ones You have struck,
And talk of the grief of those You have wounded.
²⁷ Add iniquity to their iniquity,
And let them not come into Your righteousness.
²⁸ Let them be blotted out of the book of the living,
And not be written with the righteous.

²² Let their supper be bait in a trap that snaps shut;
May their best friends be trappers who’ll skin them alive.

²³ Make them become blind as bats,
Give them the shakes from morning to night.

²⁴ Let them know what you think of them,
Blast them with your red-hot anger.

²⁵ Burn down their houses,
Leave them desolate with nobody at home.

²⁶ They gossiped about the one you disciplined,
Made up stories about anyone wounded by God.

²⁷ Pile on the guilt,
Don’t let them off the hook.

²⁸ Strike their names from the list of the living;
No rock-carved honor for them among the righteous.

The Message

^18-21 We know that none of the God-born makes a practice of sin—fatal sin. The God-born are also the God-protected. The Evil One can’t lay a hand on them. We know that we are held firm by God; it’s only the people of the world who continue in the grip of the Evil One. And we know that the Son of God came so we could recognize and understand the truth of God—what a gift!—and we are living in the Truth itself, in God’s Son, Jesus Christ. This Jesus is both True God and Real Life. Dear children, be on guard against all clever facsimiles.

6am Father, overturn every table of seduction and every snare set through culture to entrap hearts.

9am I renounce the idols of celebrity, vanity, sensuality, and self-exaltation that dominate creative spaces.

12pm Let enchantment, fascination with darkness, and appetite for corruption lose power over the masses.

3pm Every altar of idolatrous admiration drawing worship away from God, be dismantled.

6pm Lord, rescue artists and audiences from bondage to approval, excess, and spiritual blindness.

9pm I decree that the spell of moral numbness over culture is broken by the light of Christ.

12am Let holy conviction visit theaters, studios, stages, and streams where darkness has been celebrated.

3am O God, reclaim imagination from idols and redirect desire toward truth, beauty, and worship.
