Exodus 33:13-16

New King James Version

¹³ Now therefore, I pray, if I have found grace in Your sight, show me now Your way, that I may know You and that I may find grace in Your sight. And consider that this nation is Your people.”

¹⁴ And He said, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”

¹⁵ Then he said to Him, “If Your Presence does not go with us, do not bring us up from here. ¹⁶ For how then will it be known that Your people and I have found grace in Your sight, except You go with us? So we shall be separate, Your people and I, from all the people who are upon the face of the earth.”

Exodus 33:13-16

The Message

^12-13 Moses said to God, “Look, you tell me, ‘Lead this people,’ but you don’t let me know whom you’re going to send with me. You tell me, ‘I know you well and you are special to me.’ If I am so special to you, let me in on your plans. That way, I will continue being special to you. Don’t forget, this is your people, your responsibility.”

¹⁴ God said, “My presence will go with you. I’ll see the journey to the end.”

^15-16 Moses said, “If your presence doesn’t take the lead here, call this trip off right now. How else will it be known that you’re with me in this, with me and your people? Are you traveling with us or not? How else will we know that we’re special, I and your people, among all other people on this planet Earth?”

Our Compassionate High Priest

¹⁴ Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. ¹⁵ For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. ¹⁶ Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

The Message

The High Priest Who Cried Out in Pain

^14-16 Now that we know what we have—Jesus, this great High Priest with ready access to God—let’s not let it slip through our fingers. We don’t have a priest who is out of touch with our reality. He’s been through weakness and testing, experienced it all—all but the sin. So let’s walk right up to him and get what he is so ready to give. Take the mercy, accept the help.

6am Father, if Your presence does not go with us, let us not move; mark us by Your nearness and not by human strength.

9am I obtain mercy and find grace to help in this hour of need for myself, the Church, and the nations.

12pm Let divine presence distinguish Your people from every counterfeit system and powerless religion.

3pm Every substitute for the presence of God in ministry and personal life, be exposed and removed.

6pm Lord, show us Your ways that we may know You and walk in favor before You.

9pm I decree that communion with God will become the strength, beauty, and defense of the remnant.

12am Let the atmosphere of homes, churches, and territories shift because Your presence has settled there.

3am Father, make us carriers of holy presence that displaces darkness and establishes righteous distinction.
