Theme: Thy Kingdom Come
Geographical Focus: Bolivia, including its Andean highlands, rural villages, Indigenous communities, cities, mining regions, churches, women, families, entrepreneurs, and national leaders.
Kingdom Focus: Women’s dignity, Indigenous leadership, economic opportunity, family stability, education, entrepreneurship, protection from violence, responsible resource stewardship, and faith that overcomes fear.
Big Question: What becomes possible when a woman stops accepting the limitations that poverty, discrimination, violence, or tradition have placed upon her?
Every morning before sunrise, Marisol climbed the steep road from her neighbourhood to the market. She carried woven bags filled with vegetables, herbs, and brightly coloured textiles made by women from her community. The altitude made each step demanding, but the journey had become familiar.
Marisol belonged to an Aymara family whose knowledge of farming, weaving, trade, and mountain life had passed through generations. Her grandmother had taught her that their clothing, language, and traditions were not signs of backwardness but evidence of survival, identity, and dignity.
Yet Marisol had also encountered people who treated Indigenous women as less intelligent or less capable. Some customers tried to underpay her, officials ignored her questions, and several lenders refused to consider her business plans. She learned that discrimination could become a silent wall, limiting opportunity without announcing itself openly.
At home, financial pressure was constant. Her husband worked irregular jobs, and the family depended heavily upon her market income. When one of her children became ill, Marisol borrowed money at an unfair rate. The debt grew quickly, and fear began accompanying her on every climb.
A women’s fellowship at a local church invited her to attend a business and discipleship programme. The meetings combined prayer, bookkeeping, savings, marketing, family health, and teaching about identity in Christ. The women were reminded that entrepreneurship was not merely about profit; it could preserve families, create employment, and strengthen communities.
Marisol joined a small savings group with several traders. Instead of depending upon exploitative lenders, the women contributed regularly and provided one another with accountable loans. They purchased supplies together, improved product quality, and shared transport to reduce expenses.
The group also created a safe place where women could speak about domestic violence, intimidation, and economic control. The church leaders refused to tell abused women simply to endure in silence. They offered counselling, legal referrals, emergency assistance, and pastoral care while calling men towards repentance, responsibility, and Christlike leadership.
Marisol gradually expanded her business. She began selling textiles through digital platforms with the help of her teenage daughter. Each product included the name of the woman who made it and the story of the community from which it came. Customers were no longer purchasing anonymous goods; they were recognising skill, heritage, and human dignity.
As the business grew, Marisol employed other women and ensured they were paid fairly. She organised training for younger women who had left school early and encouraged them to continue their education while developing practical skills.
Bolivia contains immense cultural wealth, Indigenous knowledge, mineral resources, agricultural potential, and courageous communities. Women contribute substantially to farming, markets, households, education, churches, and local enterprise, yet many continue facing discrimination, violence, insecure work, and limited access to finance.
Economic empowerment alone cannot solve every problem, but dignified work can help women protect their families, educate children, make responsible decisions, and participate more fully in public life. Opportunity becomes more powerful when it is accompanied by discipleship, justice, education, and healthy relationships.
Bolivia also faces the challenge of stewarding its natural resources wisely. Mining and mineral development can generate employment and national revenue, but they may also damage communities and the environment when accountability is weak. Women and Indigenous communities should not bear the hidden costs of development while receiving the smallest share of its benefits.
Years later, Marisol stood before a gathering of young entrepreneurs and described the road she had climbed each morning. She explained that fear had not disappeared all at once. She had overcome it through prayer, knowledge, cooperation, truthful relationships, and repeated acts of obedience.
The woman who climbed higher than fear did not rise alone. She carried other women with her, proving that empowerment becomes Kingdom transformation when opportunity is multiplied rather than guarded.
Consider the barriers women may face through discrimination, violence, economic dependence, limited education, or lack of access to finance.
Reflect on the difference between endurance and silent acceptance of abuse. Biblical faith calls people towards truth, safety, repentance, justice, healing, and restoration.
Ask God to strengthen women whose work sustains families and communities but remains undervalued or invisible.
Proverbs 31:25: “Strength and honour are her clothing; she shall rejoice in time to come.”
Psalm 46:5: “God is in the midst of her, she shall not be moved.”
Judges 4:9: “For the Lord will sell Sisera into the hand of a woman.”
Proverbs 31:16–18: “She considers a field and buys it; from her profits she plants a vineyard.”
Galatians 3:28: “You are all one in Christ Jesus.”
Bolivia is home to strong Indigenous cultures, mountain communities, urban centres, agricultural regions, and significant natural resources. Aymara, Quechua, and other Indigenous peoples contribute deeply to national identity, commerce, farming, language, and community life.
Women play essential roles in households, markets, agriculture, churches, and small businesses. However, many face informal employment, unequal access to finance, discrimination, violence, and limited social protection.
Entrepreneurship, education, cooperatives, fair lending, legal protection, and digital access can expand opportunity. Churches can contribute through discipleship, mentoring, family counselling, business training, and practical protection for vulnerable women.
National development should also protect Indigenous participation, community land, water, workers, and the environment.
We thank God for Bolivia’s women, families, Indigenous peoples, churches, farmers, traders, miners, teachers, entrepreneurs, and young people.
We thank Him for women whose labour feeds households, educates children, preserves culture, and sustains local economies.
We also thank God for churches, cooperatives, legal advocates, and community leaders helping women move from vulnerability towards safety, dignity, and opportunity.
Ask God whether fear, discrimination, or past disappointment has caused you to bury an ability He entrusted to you.
Listen for a Bolivian woman, family, church, Indigenous community, entrepreneur, or leader whom He may be asking you to carry in prayer.
What I sense God saying to me:
Support a trustworthy initiative providing women with discipleship, education, legal protection, business training, savings opportunities, healthcare, or access to markets.
Encourage a woman whose work or leadership has been overlooked. Recognise her contribution and help open a practical door of opportunity.
My commitment today:
My practical action:
Father, we thank You for Bolivia, for its people, mountains, cultures, languages, churches, families, land, resources, and communities.
Strengthen Bolivian women carrying families, businesses, farms, churches, and communities. Honour their labour and open doors for education, finance, enterprise, leadership, and fair employment.
Protect women and children from domestic violence, trafficking, exploitation, intimidation, and abuse. Give churches wisdom to respond with truth, compassion, safety, justice, and responsible pastoral care.
Restore men and families. Raise husbands and fathers who reject violence, accept responsibility, honour women, nurture children, and lead through sacrificial love.
Preserve the dignity, languages, knowledge, and lawful rights of Aymara, Quechua, and other Indigenous peoples. Deliver communities from discrimination and exclusion.
Bless traders, farmers, artisans, entrepreneurs, teachers, healthcare workers, miners, and young people. Strengthen cooperatives and businesses that create dignified employment.
Give wisdom and integrity to Bolivia’s leaders. Confront corruption and ensure that mineral wealth, land, water, and public revenue are stewarded for the wellbeing of the people.
Protect communities affected by mining and development. Let workers receive fair treatment, local voices be heard, and environmental damage be prevented.
Raise women who will lead in churches, families, enterprise, education, healthcare, government, and community transformation with humility, courage, and integrity.
Let every woman climb higher than fear and use her gifts to raise others. Let Your Kingdom come across Bolivia.
In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.
Today, I declare that the women and girls of Bolivia belong to the Lord and will not be defined by fear, violence, poverty, discrimination, or invisibility.
I declare dignity over Indigenous peoples, protection over families, opportunity over women, and righteous responsibility over men.
I declare access to education, finance, enterprise, healthcare, justice, and leadership. Hidden gifts will emerge, businesses will grow, and communities will be strengthened.
Bolivian women will rise without abandoning their identity, and those who succeed will create pathways for others.
In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.
Kingdom advancement is not complete when one person escapes hardship while others remain trapped. God’s blessing should become a pathway through which others can rise.
Carry Bolivia’s women, families, Indigenous communities, churches, entrepreneurs, and leaders in prayer today.
Recognise one overlooked gift and help create a practical opportunity for it to grow.
