“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations…” — Matthew 28:19–20
North America • Central America • The Caribbean • South America • Islands of the Seas
Becoming disciples whose inner life with God produces wisdom, grace, truth, and peace when they are misunderstood or falsely accused.
The Caribbean
Spiritual awakening, strengthened families, encouragement for teachers and young people, economic resilience, freedom from fear and bitterness, unity among churches, wise Christian witness, compassionate leadership, and multiplying disciple-making communities throughout Cuba.
Daniel Herrera taught mathematics in a small community learning centre. He was respected because he explained difficult ideas patiently and never humiliated students who struggled. After classes, he hosted a voluntary Discovery Bible Study for young adults who wanted to explore Scripture.
The group began with six people but gradually grew. Some came because they were curious about Jesus, while others needed a safe place to discuss family pressure, disappointment, work, and faith. Daniel never connected academic help to participation in the Bible study. Anyone could receive tutoring without attending prayer or Scripture discussions.
As the group expanded, rumours began. One man claimed Daniel was using education to recruit young people into a secret religious organisation. Another accused him of disrespecting national institutions and teaching students to resist authority.
The accusations were false, but they spread quickly. A complaint was submitted to the centre’s leadership, and Daniel was called before a review committee.
Several students urged him to expose the people responsible. One offered to publish private messages showing the accusers’ hypocrisy. Daniel refused.
“We will answer what is true,” he said. “We will not defend ourselves by becoming dishonest.”
Before the hearing, Daniel gathered the DBS group and read Acts 6:8–15. Stephen was full of faith, grace, power, and wisdom. When opponents could not withstand the wisdom and Spirit by which he spoke, they secretly persuaded people to make false accusations.
The passage did not promise that wisdom would prevent slander. It showed that a disciple could remain governed by the Holy Spirit while others misrepresented him.
At the hearing, Daniel was asked whether he had organised religious activities through the learning centre. He explained that the DBS met after official hours, participation was voluntary, and no student received academic advantage for attending.
He was also asked whether he taught young people to reject authority.
“No,” Daniel replied. “I teach them to think truthfully, act responsibly, respect people, and place their highest obedience in God. Respect for authority does not require agreement with every decision, and faith does not permit hatred or disorder.”
One committee member repeatedly interrupted him and presented statements without context. Daniel corrected the facts calmly, acknowledged one administrative mistake, and refused to speculate about motives.
A colleague watching from the back later said that Daniel’s face looked strangely peaceful.
The review found no evidence that he had coerced students or promoted violence. However, Daniel was instructed to formalise the separation between his teaching responsibilities and the voluntary DBS group. He accepted the correction and moved the meetings to a private home.
Some students considered this a defeat. Daniel disagreed.
“We did not lose the mission,” he said. “We corrected what needed correction and continued what God asked us to do.”
The strongest opposition came later. Anonymous messages accused Daniel of receiving foreign money and manipulating vulnerable families. A photograph of him praying with students was circulated without context.
This time, Daniel felt the pressure deeply. He stopped sleeping well and began rehearsing angry responses in his mind. His peaceful face remained visible, but his heart was becoming troubled.
An older believer named Marta noticed the change.
“You are answering people calmly,” she said, “but you are fighting them all night inside your mind.”
Daniel admitted that he wanted God to expose and embarrass everyone who had lied about him.
Marta replied, “Peace is not the ability to look calm. It is the surrender of your right to control how every person sees you.”
Daniel began praying differently. He asked God to reveal anything that required repentance, protect students, expose falsehood without revenge, and preserve his love for those opposing him.
The accusations did not disappear immediately, but anger stopped governing his decisions. The DBS group continued in homes, and several students began facilitating new groups.
One evening, a young man asked Daniel how he remained peaceful when people lied.
Daniel answered, “I do not always feel peaceful. I return repeatedly to the One who knows the whole truth.”
Months later, one of Daniel’s accusers requested a private meeting. He admitted that he had repeated allegations he had never verified because he feared Daniel’s influence among young people.
Daniel listened, accepted the apology, and asked whether the man would correct the false statements publicly. The man hesitated but eventually agreed to clarify the facts before those he had misled.
Forgiveness did not remove accountability. Daniel refused revenge, but he also refused to pretend that public damage could be repaired only through a private apology.
The experience changed the learning centre. Clear policies were introduced for complaints, voluntary religious activity, safeguarding, and evidence-based review. Accusations could be investigated without assuming guilt or silencing legitimate concerns.
Daniel also changed. He became less dependent upon being understood by everyone. He kept accurate records, welcomed appropriate oversight, and continued serving without turning his suffering into a personal platform.
The original DBS group multiplied into several homes. Daniel no longer led every meeting. He trained others to ask questions, listen carefully, obey Scripture, and respond to opposition without panic.
The false accusations had attempted to isolate him. Instead, they produced clearer systems, deeper character, and distributed leadership.
His students continued describing him as the teacher with the untroubled face, but Daniel knew the truth: the peace was not natural confidence. It was the repeated work of surrender.
Acts 6:8–15 introduces Stephen as a man full of faith, grace, power, wisdom, and the Holy Spirit. Although he had been selected for practical service, his ministry extended into powerful witness.
This reminds the Church that administrative or compassionate service does not define the limits of a person’s calling. Spirit-filled servants may also become teachers, evangelists, advocates, and courageous witnesses.
Stephen’s opponents could not withstand the wisdom and Spirit by which he spoke, so they turned from honest debate to false accusation. When truth could not be defeated through reason, deception was used to damage the messenger.
Disciples must therefore prepare not only to answer questions but also to endure misrepresentation. Wisdom does not guarantee that everyone will respond fairly.
Stephen’s face appeared like the face of an angel. This does not mean he felt no pressure. It reveals that the presence of God governed him more deeply than the hostility surrounding him.
Biblical peace is not emotional numbness, weakness, or refusal to defend truth. It is inner stability rooted in God’s presence. A peaceful disciple may still correct lies, present evidence, seek lawful protection, and require public correction.
Leviticus 21 describes standards of holiness for priests. Those serving publicly before God carried responsibilities that affected both private conduct and public trust.
Christian leaders are not governed by Israel’s priestly regulations, but the principle remains: visible ministry requires disciplined character. Gifts, titles, and public effectiveness do not replace holiness.
Psalm 111 celebrates the works, righteousness, compassion, faithfulness, and truth of God. It concludes:
“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.”
Stephen’s wisdom came from a life ordered beneath God’s authority. His peace was not produced by technique but by reverence, truth, and dependence upon the Holy Spirit.
Together, these passages teach that faithful witness requires wisdom, holiness, truthful conduct, emotional surrender, and confidence in God’s character.
When accusations arise, disciples should ask:
What is true? What requires correction? What evidence should be presented? Whom must I forgive? What boundaries are necessary? Is my heart still governed by the Holy Spirit?
Acts 6:8–15
Leviticus 21
Psalm 111
Acts 6:8–15 shows Stephen serving with grace, power, wisdom, and spiritual courage. When opponents could not answer him truthfully, they used false testimony.
The passage warns that successful witness may attract resistance. Disciples must therefore remain truthful, keep appropriate records, welcome accountability, and refuse dishonest retaliation.
Leviticus 21 emphasises holiness among those serving publicly before God. Spiritual responsibility requires integrity in private life, family relationships, leadership, and conduct.
Psalm 111 directs attention towards God’s faithful works. His righteousness, truth, compassion, and covenant provide stability when human opinions become uncertain.
The fear of the Lord produces wisdom because it teaches disciples to value God’s judgment above public approval. A person who knows that God sees fully can remain peaceful without needing to control every human opinion.
Speak truthfully, document important facts, welcome fair investigation, acknowledge genuine mistakes, correct false allegations respectfully, protect confidential information, refuse revenge, seek wise counsel, maintain holiness in private life, pray for accusers, and allow the Holy Spirit to govern your words and emotions.
Avoid answering lies with lies, exposing unnecessary private information, threatening critics, denying genuine failures, treating every complaint as persecution, building identity around victimhood, appearing calm while nurturing hatred, demanding immediate restoration of reputation, or allowing accusations to stop disciple-making.
Identify one accusation, misunderstanding, or damaged relationship affecting you. Write down what is true, what is false, and what may require correction on your part.
Gather relevant evidence without manipulating the story. Speak with a mature believer or qualified adviser before responding publicly.
Where the accusation is false, answer clearly and respectfully. Where you made a mistake, acknowledge it without excuses. Where public harm occurred, request appropriate public correction.
Pray for freedom from revenge and ask the Holy Spirit to protect your heart. Then continue one act of obedience that fear or embarrassment has tempted you to abandon.
Father, You know the complete truth about my life. When I am misunderstood or falsely accused, keep fear and anger from governing me.
Give me wisdom to answer truthfully, humility to admit mistakes, and courage to seek appropriate correction. Protect me from revenge, careless speech, and the need to control every opinion.
Make my private life consistent with my public witness. Fill me with the Holy Spirit so that grace, wisdom, holiness, and peace become visible under pressure.
Teach me to entrust my reputation to You while continuing faithfully in the work You have given me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Father, we lift Cuba before You. Pour out Your Spirit across its provinces, cities, towns, rural communities, schools, workplaces, churches, healthcare institutions, and families.
Bring spiritual awakening marked by repentance, holiness, compassion, reconciliation, truth, and multiplying disciples. Strengthen believers to witness with wisdom, courage, humility, and peace.
Encourage teachers, students, healthcare workers, farmers, artists, workers, business owners, pastors, and families facing economic and emotional pressure. Provide daily needs, meaningful work, strong relationships, and renewed hope.
Protect young people from despair, addiction, exploitation, family breakdown, and hopelessness. Raise mentors and disciple-makers who listen carefully and lead them towards truth, skills, purpose, and faith.
Give wisdom and integrity to national, local, church, and community leaders. Let truth overcome fear, accusation, corruption, and division.
Strengthen churches to remain united, compassionate, accountable, and faithful under pressure. May Cuba send wise and courageous disciple-makers throughout the Caribbean, the Americas, and the nations. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Lord, strengthen believers throughout the Americas who face false accusations, public misunderstanding, legal pressure, workplace hostility, or family rejection.
Give churches fair processes for investigating complaints, protecting vulnerable people, correcting falsehood, and acknowledging genuine wrongdoing.
Deliver leaders from defensiveness, retaliation, secrecy, and reputation management. Raise disciples whose wisdom, holiness, and peace reveal the presence of Jesus.
May opposition produce deeper character, stronger systems, and multiplying communities rather than bitterness and silence. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Father, purify the witness of Your Church. Strengthen believers who are falsely accused, imprisoned, discriminated against, or publicly misrepresented.
Give them legal support, wise counsel, faithful community, emotional healing, and Spirit-filled courage. Where accusations are true, bring repentance, confession, restitution, and reform.
Teach the Church neither to hide wrongdoing nor to destroy people through unverified claims. Let truth, justice, mercy, and holiness remain together.
May the face of Christ become visible through disciples who remain peaceful, truthful, and faithful under pressure. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Lord Jesus, raise disciple-makers who remain steady when criticised or misunderstood. Fill them with wisdom, grace, truth, and the Holy Spirit.
Teach them to keep clear records, welcome accountability, correct mistakes, protect people, and refuse retaliation.
May opposition multiply rather than stop the movement. Let homes, schools, workplaces, and ordinary relationships become places where new disciples are formed. Amen.
Lord of the harvest, strengthen believers among unreached peoples who face accusation, rejection, surveillance, or family pressure because they follow Jesus.
Give them wisdom concerning speech, gatherings, relationships, and public witness. Provide Scripture in heart languages, trustworthy fellowship, protection, and practical support.
May false accusations fail to silence the Gospel, and may peaceful, holy lives reveal Jesus to those watching. Amen.
Today, I choose truth over retaliation and the presence of God over the approval of people. I will answer accusations honestly, acknowledge genuine mistakes, and refuse to defend myself through deception.
I will protect confidential information, welcome fair accountability, pray for those who oppose me, and continue obeying Jesus.
🦅 I will see like an eagle.
🦁 I will lead like a lion.
✝️ I will serve like Christ.
By God’s grace, my private life, public witness, and response under pressure will remain surrendered to the Holy Spirit.
